The police have opened a fresh investigation into the death of slain rapper AKA’s fiancée Anele Tembe.
Tembe, fondly known as Nelly, died after she “fell off” from the balcony of Pepper Hotel in Cape Town two years ago, after an altercation with the rapper, who posthumously won several gongs at the Metro FM Music Awards in Mpumalanga at the weekend.
AKA’S PARENTS INFORMED REINVESTIGATION
Anele – who was the daughter of Durban tycoon, Moses Tembe – fell to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel on Loop street in Cape Town in April 2021 while she was reportedly with AKA – real name Kiernan Forbes. Many (including her family) believe AKA – who was gunned down in February this year in Durban in what is believed to be a hit – may have pushed her.
Sunday World reports that a source has revealed that AKA’s parents, Lynn and Tony Forbes, were informed of the reinvestigating last week. However, it is not clear of their late son is the prime suspect.
Her family made further representations to the NPA. The Tembes are convinced that their daughter’s untimely death was not due to suicide.
Tembe’s believe AKA killed Anele
The Tembe family believes that AKA pushed or threw Anele from the balcony and felt the NPA should have conducted a thorough investigation.
They believe that there was enough evidence that indicated otherwise. The Tembe’s legal team pointed out evidence that substantiated their claims.
Moses Tembe denied accusations on social media of his alleged involvement in AKA’s shooting, who was shot at close range, described as a hit.
Responding to the claims, Tembe said in a statement: “The accusations are untrue and without substance. I categorically state my family feels the pain of the Forbes family and would never be involved in an abhorrent act of this nature.”
